What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a form of trance that we often experience once every 7 minutes. When used properly it can be an incredibly powerful tool for making changes in our habits and in the way we react to external situations. Despite this it’s still incredibly misunderstood.

Stage hypnotism and hypnotherapy are very different. No one ever walks like a chicken at the practice when they’ve come to see me, they just make positive changes in their thoughts and actions.

What’s the difference between stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy?

When people first think of stage hypnosis they often jump to the image of a bearded man and a monocle or a pendulum “making” an audience member do something against their will. Hypnotherapy on the other hand couldn’t be further from this. Thankfully no one can actually make you do anything you don’t want to. In short, hypnotherapy is guided imagery/focused visualisation, a form of trance – and the feeling will be very familiar to you. Every time you watch TV, go on a long drive, daydream, worry – you’re using trance. The difference between hypnotherapy and day dreaming is simply intent. By using the conscious and the subconscious mind together to focus on the same thing, you can create incredible changes.

What will our sessions consist of?

Our sessions are tailored completely around you and your specific needs in that moment while still having the bigger picture in mind. In some weeks it may be appropriate for us to use goal setting exercises, in others, to address and conquer limiting beliefs and so on. We would then use hypnotherapy/trance to solidify the changes you want to make and the bad habits you want to break. The aim of each session is to create a safe environment for you to grow in your personal achievements and we can pull on a variety of tools as and when they’re necessary.

How many sessions will it take?

That is completely up to you. I have a variety of packages to choose from starting with a minimum of 4 to be carried out weekly. Getting you to where you want to be doesn’t take that long, it’s keeping you there where we do the real work. Some people like starting with 4 and some people like to continuously use the service week by week because they find the experience pleasant and they find hypnotherapy helps them grow faster. However you can rebook the packages as and when you require. We start our sessions weekly and when the time is right, we move to fortnightly and then eventually monthly.

How long are the sessions?

Each session usually lasts 50-55 minutes. A Smoking Cessation is a one off 120 minute session.

What are your prices?

Each session is £80 and lasts approximately 50-55 minutes. However there are a number of packages that can be bought which significantly lowers the price. I always advise someone to book a free online consultation first to see if this is a good fit for them before purchasing. The Stop Smoking Session is a one off 2 hour session and costs £250.
