Depression (just like anxiety) is a “primitive opt clause”. An old piece of software that was amazing when we were cavemen but useless in a time where we no longer need it.

But that’s not how it feels is it?

Depression can affect people in a variety of ways including but not limited to:

  • Tiredness and loss of energy

  • Sadness that doesn’t go away or a deep sadness that cant be escaped

  • Loss of self-confidence and self-esteem

  • Not being able to enjoy things that are usually pleasurable of interesting

  • Avoiding other people, sometimes even your close friends

  • Feelings of helplessness and hopelessness

  • Sleeping problems – difficulties in getting off to sleep or waking up much earlier than usual

  • Very strong feelings of guilt or worthlessness

  • Finding it hard to function at work/college/school

  • Loss of sex drive and/or sexual problems

I remember when I was suffering from depression, I genuinely believed that there was something innately “wrong” with me – that it didn’t matter if I had “good days”. I was naturally “wired to be unhappy” and It was only a matter of time before I inevitably went back to the bottomless pit…..

I wish I had someone to tell me what I’m proud to tell you now.

This could not be further from the truth and there is hope.

Hypnotherapy itself is an extremely powerful therapeutic tool for lifting the negative states of depression. It’s non-intrusive and can be used alongside medication such SSRI’s and other antidepressants.

Thankfully everything we do within our sessions is solution focused and therefore we don’t need to revisit trauma or a negative past in order to create a compelling future. After all, if all of us drove in cars looking only in the rear view mirror – we’d crash.

During our Free consultation I take you through the science of what’s happening in the brain and the body in order to show you what can cause depression but more importantly… what we can do about it! Over the years this has been a huge eye opener for customers as for the first time (sometimes in their life) – their depression “make sense”.

Unfortunately a GP Doctor only has an average of 10 minutes with each patient and generally won’t have the time to go through this with you in detail.
